Sunday evening, December 18 at 7 P.M.
, the Holy Trinity Schola Cantorum will present a
Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
—a service of Scripture and Song in celebration of the Coming of the Savior. Patterned after the traditional service of Lessons and Carols offered annually at King's College, Cambridge, this beautiful celebration will include nine readings from Holy Scripture by parishioners (children and adults), lay staff and clergy, punctuated by magnificent works of choral music for Advent and Christmas. The pinnacle of the service will be a performance of the
Oratorio de Noël
of Camille Saint-Saëns, accompanied by string orchestra, harp and organ. There will also be many time-honored congregational Christmas carols.
As this is not simply a "concert," but a
admission is FREE
, although donations to the Holy Trinity music program are heartily appreciated. Please mark your calendars and bring your friends and neighbors. It will be a wonderful opportunity for the Parish family and community to come together to celebrate the season. (Children are most welcome to attend, though it may not be ideal for younger children who have difficulty sitting for long periods.)
